To provide affordable financial services to our members and their families in Southeast and South-Central Missouri . To promote community development in our low-to-moderate-income areas. To encourage thrift savings and the wise use of credit for individuals and small businesses in the targeted areas.
A small group of VA Hospital employees came together to organize a credit union. Originally founded as the Poplar Bluff Federal Credit Union, this tight-knit group of employees had a vision of providing a safe place to save and get loans at fair rates.
Poplar Bluff Federal Credit Union merged with a local teacher's credit union. Since that date OFCU has also merged with Arvin Employees Credit Union. In February of 2002 we were granted an expansion into Butler County.
Our name changed from Poplar Bluff Federal Credit Union to Ozark Federal Credit Union and we expanded into Carter, Dunklin, Ripley, Stoddard and Wayne Counties.
NCUA approved an additional expansion for Ozark Federal Credit Union to now cover 25 Missouri counties.
At Ozark Federal Credit Union, we believe in the fundamental principle of 'people helping people.' Our mission is to provide quality, affordable products and services tailored to the needs of our members. Our Board of Directors and Associate Committee are the backbone of this mission, focusing on the best interests of our entire membership.
As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, our members actively serve on the Board of Directors and Associate Committee to shape the strategic decisions and policies of our credit union. They volunteer their time and talents to represent the voice of our membership and ensure the credit union's continued success.
Our Board of Directors consists of nine voting members, each serving a three-year term with staggered expirations. We welcome applications from individual members interested in serving on the Board of Directors during our open application period.
